Finding Stillness
Today, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj responded to spiritual questions from the audience gathered at the SOS International Meditation Center in Lisle, Illinois.
Expounding on how we can meditate despite distractions around us, the spiritual Master said that distractions are everywhere. No arena will be totally calm and quiet. Meditation, he explained, is a process of withdrawing our attention from the world outside. It can be practiced even in the presence of distractions because that is how we can hone our skills of concentration. We need to train ourselves not to let our environment distract us, and this happens as we learn the technique of defocusing on the world around us and focusing on the inner worlds. We can refine this skill through daily and regular practice.
