Nothing Can Stop Us from Knowing God
Following his return from tour stops in Zurich, Switzerland, and Delhi, India, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj spoke at the SOS International Meditation Center in Lisle, Illinois, USA. Walking onto the stage in the main hall, the spiritual Master greeted the large assembly and shared his joy to be back. Recounting details of his travels, he spoke of the growing thirst for spirituality worldwide, as seen by the large numbers of seekers of all ages and backgrounds who attend his talks, no matter where he is in the world. After his remarks, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji responded to questions from the audience.
One question that was asked was whether the health of our body, mind, and emotions can impact our spiritual well-being. Sant Rajinder Singh Ji explained that the most important aspect of our lives is our soul’s connection with the love and Light of God. Whether we are physically unwell, emotionally drained, or intellectually not doing well, if we connect with God’s love, everything else will fall into place. It is important to realize that this life was given to us to know God while living in the world and discharging our responsibilities and obligations. A healthy body, mind, and intellect can be helpful in this endeavor. As such, we should seek to excel in these areas while remaining focused on the purpose for which we are here.
A strong body, harmonious relationships, or sharp intellect cannot give us God-realization. By the same token, poor physical health, poor emotional well-being, and poor intellect are not a deterrent on the spiritual path. The only obstacle on the way Godward is the lack of a true desire to know God. Nothing should keep us from knowing God once we are born in this human body, said the spiritual Master. As long as our understanding of life’s purpose is clear, our desire for God is strong, and we make the time daily and regularly to meditate and connect with God’s love and Light, nothing can stop us. We are sure to succeed on our journey back to God.
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj will give talks at the SOS Center in Lisle through May 14 before leaving on a world tour.
