Thankfulness

Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj

During the holiday season, it is a time to show gratitude. One way to show our gratefulness for all the gifts we received from the Divine is through meditation. Everything we have received in this world—from our human birth to the food, clothing, water, and shelter that sustains us, and the multitude of physical and spiritual blessings—is due to the One who brought all creation into being.

During most of the year, we are too busy to stop and reflect on how we have received all our gifts. However, during the holidays, when we take the time to offer thanks we can also offer gratitude to the Source of all life. By sitting in meditation, we can thank the Creator for all that we have been given. We can spend time in the silence of our own being, connecting with that spiritual Source within each of us.

We all know that when we give to someone, we feel joy when that gift is accepted with gratitude. It motivates us to want to give more and more to that person. The best way to show thankfulness to the One who has given us our life is by sitting in meditation with a grateful heart. Spending time in meditation fills us with peace, love, and joy, which in turn radiates to all we meet.

I pray this holiday season is a joyous one for all. May each one be enriched by the moments of meditation in which we connect in the silence of our soul to the One we are grateful to for all we have received.

Experience God Within

Experience God Within

If we truly want to find God, we need to still our thoughts. We merely need to gaze within. We need to still our body and mind to experience it. Any thoughts of evaluation, judging, or clutching will keep us from the experience.

The beauty of God’s unseen hand is that sometimes we actively pray for help and receive it. But there are many times when we do not even ask for help, and help comes anyway.
