When we learn a new subject, we first learn its theory. Then, with subjects such as the sciences, we experiment to see the theory in practice; this helps us better comprehend it. In Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj’s discourse today, he explained how spirituality is no different.
Spirituality is a science, and it deals with the realities of our existence and our connection with the Creator. While we can read scriptures and writings by great saints and mystics, we must conduct practical experimentation to truly understand spirituality. This experimentation occurs within the laboratory of the human body. The technique employed, said the spiritual Master, is the process of inversion, known as meditation.
In meditation, we withdraw our attention from the outer world and focus it within. As we still our body and mind, we connect with the inner Light, and our soul embarks on the inner spiritual journey. We experience God’s love for ourselves and no longer rely on blind faith. We realize the Creator’s constant presence in our lives and are transformed as our life becomes filled with love, peace, and joy.
