Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj presided over the 55th Global Meditation in Place online event today. He spoke on the importance of hard work and diligence if we are to succeed in our spiritual quest. When we look at the lives of those who have succeeded in various arenas, we wonder what led to their success and often attribute it to luck and good fortune. Little do we realize, the spiritual Master said, that it is diligence, hard work, and earnest effort that allows us to achieve success in any chosen field. It is no different in the spiritual arena.
Achievement on the path Godward means to be able to experience God, to unfold the mysteries of life and death, to get the answers to questions about our existence, and to realize the merger of our soul in God. The great saints and mystics tell us that excellence on the spiritual path can be achieved by each one of us because each of us has been given the faculties needed to get to our goal. The goal is within reach, and it is simply a question of how dedicated we are to achieve it. What is needed, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji said, is a sincere and deep passion to unravel the mystery of life, to experience our soul, and to experience God.
This passion propels us forward and drives our earnest and diligent efforts. Our sincere search for God eventually leads us to a spiritual adept who can teach us the technique of meditation–the process of taking our attention away from the world outside and focusing it on the spiritual worlds within. Meditation allows us to experiment within the laboratory of the human body so that we can experience our soul and realize God for ourselves. As we experience the divine light of God, we awaken to the realities of life. With diligent and regular practice, we take steady steps toward fulfilling life’s supreme goal–the merger of soul in its Source. Those who have a sincere passion and put in the efforts regularly succeed in achieving this goal.
