On the heels of a successful two-day program in New York, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj returned to the Science of Spirituality International Meditation Center for an evening spiritual discourse.

Life is filled with ups and downs, the spiritual Master said, and when challenges seem to pile up in our lives, it is easy to give in and become negative. However, we must remember that the difficult times in life will always pass, and despite the outer circumstances, we should maintain a positive attitude in life. When we do so, he explained, we connect with the positive energy within ourselves, and this gives us the strength to weather the storms of life more easily.

Citing research and studies that have demonstrated the benefits of positivity, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji emphasized that when we start to think positively, our words and actions follow suit, and a healing occurs at the level of our spirit. When the spirit is healed, our emotional, mental, and physical states are also healed. In adopting a positive attitude, we not only help ourselves, but we also create an atmosphere around us which is positive, he said.

Expounding on the role of meditation in helping us lead positive lives, he explained that as we connect with the Light and Sound of God in meditation, we begin to realize God’s presence in our lives. This realization gives us strength as we grow strong in the conviction that God is always watching over us. Worry leaves us, and we find it easier to become positive, knowing that all is happening for our highest good. This makes life more livable, more loving, more peaceful and fulfilling, he said.
