This afternoon, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj explained that many toxins can impact us at the level of the body, the mind, and our emotions. In recent decades, there has been a lot of emphasis on detoxing the body to free it of toxins caused by our lifestyle choices. It is important to realize that some of the toxins we believe impact our body actually come from the mind. These toxins of the mind arise from various spheres of life, such as our work, relationships, and neighborhoods. Yet they are not limited to our physical interactions. Toxins can also come from the world at large. Happenings worldwide can cause fear, stress, and anxiety within us that can affect our body.
Toxins of the mind distract us and keep us from our primary goal of finding our way back to God. To resolve this problem, we need to get to the origin of the toxins, and this is where meditation comes in. Meditation helps us defocus from the distractions that cause these toxins by focusing our attention on the treasures of tranquility, joy, and bliss within ourselves. Meditation helps us home into God’s love. As we experience this divine love, we are strengthened and can better handle the turmoil of the outer world.
