Today, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj spoke of the importance of experiencing God for ourselves if we are to progress on the spiritual path.
We live in a scientific age where we require proof to believe anything we hear or read about. This is especially true when it comes to spirituality and what lies beyond the reach of our physical senses. Thus, when it comes to our soul, the flights of the soul to God, and communicating with God, it is difficult for us to believe unless we have a direct experience.
Saints and spiritual Masters come to remind us that there are worlds beyond this world waiting to be discovered and experienced by us. They teach us that we are, at our core, spiritual beings. The soul enlivens our physical body, and the soul is a part of God, which has been separated from God for eons. It is in this human form that we can find our way back to God. They urge us not just to believe this to be true but to take steps to experience this truth for ourselves, to experience our spiritual nature and our connection with God.
The process by which we can have this experience is called meditation. As we withdraw our attention from the outer world and focus it on the inner spiritual worlds, we can have a direct experience of God’s love and Light. This solidifies not only our belief but our faith in God. The stronger our faith in God, the more steadily we progress Godward.
