As we go about our lives, we focus much of our time amassing material wealth and possessions, gaining intellectually, and expanding our social relationships—all in hopes that they will bring us joy and happiness. However, with time, as we witness the passing away of loved ones, we observe that everything they had obtained in their lifetime is left behind. Nothing of this material world accompanies us at the time of death. Why then do we spend our time on fleeting goals?
In his discourse today, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj advised us to stop clutching onto things of this physical world, whether out of greed or attachment. If we are to progress spiritually and fulfill the purpose of this human existence, we need to learn to let go of all that is pulling us into the world. By doing so, we can harness our energy to focus on the riches within. When we let go, we free ourselves to embark on the inner spiritual journey and connect with the love and Light of God within.
