In his latest talk, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj spoke of the importance of true living on the journey Godward. True living, he explained, is not about increasing our intellectual knowledge and awareness of how we can reach God, nor is it about presenting ourselves in a certain light to meet others’ expectations. It is about experiencing a direct connection with the divine power within through meditation. This contact with God’s love nourishes our soul, removing the layers of mind, matter, and illusion that shroud it, awakening us to our true nature and to the realities of our existence. It is about living our lives in a way that we embody the ethical virtues of love, compassion, truthfulness, humility, and selfless service to God’s creation that will bring us closer to God. This ultimately leads our soul to reunite in its Source. The spiritual Master said true living begins with introspection so that we are aware of our failures and can make the effort to weed them out one by one. It is only once we are aware of what we need to change that we can make the effort to change. As always, the evening concluded with meditation.
