This Sunday, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji spoke on the importance of letting go of things that bother us if we are to “get God.” When we are wronged or hurt, it is easy to replay the situation in our heads, again and again, such that we relive the pain and don’t let the wound heal.

This creates turmoil in our lives, and keeps our attention focused on the outer world. There is another way to respond, he said. We can also choose to let it go.

To let go, the spiritual Master said, is to choose the law of compassion, such that we learn to forget the incident that brought us pain. In doing so, we forgive those who have hurt us. As we learn to let go of what bothers us, we let go of what keeps us from God. We bring calm and peace into our lives; we get to a state where we are in harmony with the Divine, and it becomes easier for us to focus when we sit down to meditate.

With this, our journey in the inner realms comes in leaps and bounds, and our soul is able to soar into the inner regions—a journey that culminates in the fulfillment of our life’s purpose: self-realization and God-realization.

Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj now departs for Greece where he will preside over a two-day spiritual program in Athens. From there, he continues onward to Delhi, India.
