Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj (1921-1989)In his fifteen-year ministry, Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj emphasized finding spiritual fulfillment in the context of modern life. He believed in "positive mysticism," pursuing spiritual goals while fulfilling all our obligations to family, society, and the world. Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj traveled to the West four times, in 1978, 1983, 1986, and 1988, establishing five hundred and fifty centers for Science of Spirituality in forty countries. He helped people find peace, joy and harmony through meditation. His teachings were disseminated through lectures, seminars, books, and, especially, his mystic poetry. Known as the poet-saint of India, Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj received four awards from the Urdu Academy for his mystic verse. He worked tirelessly to spread the message of his spiritual mentors throughout the world by publishing books translated into over fifty languages. When the government of India produced a compendium of mystic literature, its anthology included many of Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj's works. His poems, sung by different recording artists, are often broadcast on radio and television.
