We Are One Human Family
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj says spirituality is the recognition that behind outer names and labels we are souls, a part of one Creator. As such, we are all members of one big family.
When we develop this vision, we no longer see through the eyes of prejudice and discrimination, and we break down the barriers that separate one human being from another. We feel we are connected at the level of soul. When we experience our unity and connectedness, we start caring about each other; we help and serve one another. Our vision broadens and we have compassion for all human beings.
Service Projects
As head of Science of Spirituality, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj inspires its humanitarian efforts throughout the world. Under his direction, the organization has:
• Raised and distributed material and financial aid for the South Asian tsunami victims;
• Built and donated new schools in disaster areas;
• Raised funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans;
• Sent substantial financial relief to earthquake survivors throughout the world, including Central and South America, Haiti, New Zealand, and the tsunami victims in Japan; and
• Rebuilt an entire village in India after the Gujarat earthquake.
In India, free meals are served at centers throughout the country. The organization sponsors blood donation drives, free eye-operation clinics, and other service projects, including teaching skills to women to help them be more financially independent.
Future Generations of Peacemakers: Darshan Academies
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj took an innovative step when he founded Darshan Education Foundation in 1996. He created a unique system for bringing about world peace, unity, love, and spirituality by establishing an extensive network of schools that offer students a holistic educational system and promote the ethical and spiritual values common to all religions. He says if we can include some spiritual teachings in our educational systems throughout the world, then fifteen, twenty, or twenty-five years from now, we will turn out human beings who would have love and compassion in their hearts for others.
