Ethical Living and Introspection
Ethical living is an indispensable foundation for spiritual progress. Mystics and saints throughout the ages have stressed the importance of leading an ethical life. At the end of each day, if we evaluate our thoughts, words, and deeds and become aware of our failures in the categories of nonviolence, truthfulness, purity, humility, and selfless service, we can then resolve to do better the following day. Use of a self-introspection diary is a helpful tool for recording our progress in these areas.
